RSS stands for Recycling Shredders & Solutions. A small team that has been building machines for recycling companies for years, and would rather think along before anything is ordered.

In cable, wood and plastics reduction the RSS shredder has proven itself many times over. Every material gets a rotor designed for it, and with an interchangeable screen we reach any end result required.
No sales pitch, just honest advice based on what you actually want to process. That is why customers across the recycling industry keep coming back to RSS.
RSS is based in Wijk bij Duurstede and works for recycling companies in the Netherlands and beyond. The lines are short: you speak to the people who actually build and install the machine.
We are not trying to become the biggest. We are trying to make sure the installation put on your floor today is still running in ten years, and that you are still calling the same number then. Which is why we sometimes tell you a machine is heavier than what you want to do with it.

Economical
A machine no bigger than your process
Capacity that stands still is money that stands still. We size the rotor, the drive and the screen to the tonnage you actually run, and say so when a smaller machine will do.
Efficient
One pass wherever one pass is enough
An interchangeable screen turns the same machine into a coarse pre-cutter or a calibrating one. Blades that can be turned and reused keep the cost per tonne where it belongs.
Cooperative
The same voice, before and after the invoice
You speak to the people who build and install the machine. That does not change once it is running, which is when most questions actually turn up.

Think it through
We start with your material and your target fraction, not with a catalogue. Out of that comes a processing plan that says what is needed and what is not.

Build and install
The machine is built around that plan, delivered and installed on site, connected to the feed and discharge that suit your hall.

Keep it running
Wear parts, screens, blades and advice on the process itself. We stay reachable for as long as the line runs.
Experience
Material that has already been through an RSS rotor.
Cable, wood and plastics are the three we are asked for most often, and the three we have the most rotor geometries for. Rubber, nylon and light metal follow close behind.
That experience is the reason we can usually say straight away whether a single shaft will do or whether the batch asks for two, and what it will do to your blade life.
Where our machines end up
Cable recycling
Copper and aluminium cable, from thin data cable to heavy power cable, cut back to a fraction a granulator and a separator can actually work with.
Wood processing
Pallets, crates and demolition wood reduced to chips, with a magnet and a shock breaker catching the nails and the surprises.
Plastics recycling
Purgings, mouldings, film and big bags back to a regrind an extruder will accept, at a particle size you set with the screen.
Waste collection and metals
Mixed commercial waste, drums and light metal pressed down to a volume that is worth putting on a lorry.
Questions about working with us
Who will I be dealing with at RSS?
With Harry Baumgart, which means the person who also turns up when the machine is installed. There is no account manager in between who passes the file on later. It keeps the lines short and the answers honest.
Do you build the machines yourselves?
The machines are built to our own configuration: rotor, blade geometry, screen, drive and protection are chosen by us on the basis of your material. Assembly, testing, installation and maintenance we do ourselves.
Do you work outside the Netherlands?
Yes. We are based in Wijk bij Duurstede and supply recycling companies in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and further afield on request. For service outside the region we agree in advance how quickly we can be on site.
Can I see a machine running somewhere?
Usually yes. There is nearly always a machine with us or with a customer processing something comparable. Send a sample of your material and you see not only the machine but the fraction that comes out of it.
What happens when something breaks?
You call the same number as for your first question. Blades, screens and the wear parts that get asked for most are in stock, and we first check whether the problem can be solved on the phone before anyone gets in the van.
