A Two Shaft is often used as the first reduction step ahead of further separation or secondary reduction. Knife width, power and drive are matched to the material and the capacity required.

The RSS Two Shaft Shredder, also known as the Twin Shaft Shredder, is designed for powerful pre-shredding of coarse, heavy and bulky material flows.
Two slow running shafts with robust cutting discs grip the material and pull it into the cutting zone. High torque at low rotor speed makes this machine particularly suited to material flows where grip and powerful reduction matter most.
For light or bulky materials the Two Shaft Shredder can be fitted with a vertical pusher. It supports the feed by pressing the product towards the rotors in a controlled way, keeping processing efficient and continuous.
Depending on the build and the knife configuration, the machine can be used for plastics, wood, rubber, cable, electronics and a wide range of industrial residual flows, among others.
The Two Shaft Shredder works very well as a primary reduction machine and is easily integrated into a complete RSS processing line.
