Reduction starts with what has to come out
The first question is never which machine, but which fraction you need and why. If the material goes to a customer with a fixed specification, the particle size is set and you work towards it. If it goes into your own second step, coarse pre-reduction is often enough and you can save power.
What volume per hour really means
A machine rated at ten tonnes an hour only achieves that with an even feed. In practice material arrives in waves: a lorry unloads, and then it is quiet for an hour. A bunker with a dosing floor between the feed and the shredder turns that into a constant stream, and that saves both energy and blade wear.
Contamination sets the service life
Sand, concrete and loose bolts are the largest cost in a reduction line, not the material itself. A magnet ahead of the shredder is the cheapest insurance you can buy. For streams where that is not possible we choose a rotor with replaceable blade segments rather than a solid blade, so damage stays local.
How we approach it
We start with a sample or a photograph of the batch, and with the tonnage per hour you want to move. Out of that comes a proposal with a rotor type, a screen size and a power rating, plus whatever feed and discharge it needs. If a smaller machine will do, the proposal says so.

Questions
How many tonnes an hour will this do?
That follows from the material and the fraction you need, not from the machine alone. The same shredder does twice as much on a coarse pre-reduction as it does on a 20 mm screen. Tell us what you want to move and in what size, and we will work it out.
What happens if metal ends up in the stream?
A loose bolt does local damage to a rotor with replaceable blade inserts, and you swap those on the spot. With a solid blade it is a bigger job. If your stream carries metal as a rule, we put a magnet ahead of the shredder; it is the cheapest insurance in the whole line.
Can I run a different fraction later?
Yes. The screen is interchangeable, so the same machine gives you a coarse pre-reduction today and a calibrated fraction tomorrow. A different rotor is a larger job, which is why we get that choice right the first time.
